Head of Strategic Planning: Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka has established a sustainable approach to women's empowerment

The President of the Bahrain Strategic Planning Society, Sama Yousef Al-Rais, stated that the 25th anniversary of the Supreme Council for Women's establishment represents a significant national and historical milestone, not only to celebrate the achievements of Bahraini women but also to reflect upon a pioneering national experience that has become a model in institutional planning for women's empowerment and enhanced participation in development.

She added to Al-Bilad newspaper that discussing this experience cannot overlook the pivotal role of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King of Bahrain and President of the Supreme Council for Women. Since the Council's inception in 2001, Her Royal Highness has guided the advancement of Bahraini women and strengthened their presence as active and balanced partners in the national development process with a national, humanitarian, and strategic vision.

Al-Rais pointed out that Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka has played a prominent role in establishing the concept that women's empowerment is not separate from development, but rather an essential part of building a balanced society, a sustainable economy, and a modern state that invests in all its human resources.

She continued: “For twenty-five years, Her Highness has led the Council in building a comprehensive national system, transforming women’s issues from initiatives and demands to policies, strategies, programs, indicators, and impact measurement.”

She emphasized that, from a strategic planning perspective, the continued development of this system is one of the most important factors in the success of the Bahraini experience. The Council did not rest on its laurels but continued to review its priorities and tools to align with national, economic, and social changes.

The President stated that one of the most distinctive aspects of Her Highness Princess Sabeeka’s vision is its establishment of an approach based on partnership, not isolation; empowerment, not patronage; and sustainability, not temporary solutions. This has contributed to consolidating the presence of Bahraini women in various fields of public life.

She concluded by saying that discussing the achievements of the Supreme Council for Women over twenty-five years is simultaneously discussing Her Highness Princess Sabeeka’s vision and her continuous efforts to translate this vision into institutional work, national partnerships, and tangible achievements.
