Palm Tree Work Basics Course

Jid Al-Haj Charity Society organized a short training course titled "Palm Tree Work Basics" in cooperation with specialist Mr. Mahdi Abdulali Al-Muhayyas, and with the participation of several individuals interested in agriculture and palm tree care. The course was held on Friday, January 30, 2026.

The course included a practical component focusing on introducing the fundamentals of palm tree care, methods of maintenance, and best practices for improving production and fruit quality. Mr. Mahdi provided practical demonstrations supported by field experience.

Among the key fundamentals covered during the short course were:

1. Creating irrigation circles around the palm trees.

2. Fertilization.

3. Pruning.

4. Pruning (thorning).

5. Pollination.

6. Cutting dry fronds.

7. Separating offshoots from the mother palm.

8. Air rooting of palm trees.

9. Spraying palm trees with the appropriate pesticide.

This course comes as part of the association’s efforts to support the agricultural sector and spread practical knowledge in a way that contributes to the development of the local community and promotes interest in palm cultivation.
