The Union participates in a Free Coalition meeting on family laws

Ms. Badriya Al-Marzouq, Head of the Family Laws and Marriage Contract Document Committee at the Bahrain Women’s Union, participated in the meeting organized in Istanbul, Turkey, by the Free Coalition affiliated with the Equality Now organization, during the period from 18 to 20 October 2025.

The meeting addressed the issue of amending family laws in Arab countries, with Professor Badriya discussing the Union's efforts in this regard, as well as a proposal for dividing marital assets after divorce.

Several women's delegations from various unions and organizations, including those specializing in family law in Arab and African countries, attended the meeting.

The participants agreed to develop media strategies, and the attendees listened to the experiences of Arab countries in advocacy campaigns supporting the development of family laws in Arab countries.
